Changzhou took a significant step in artificial intelligence development with the October 22 launch of Xitaihu (Changzhou) AI International Community's Origin Space and its inaugural AI Salon. Prominent attendees included: Wang Jianfeng, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee; Zhou Wei, deputy Party secretary  and mayor of Changzhou; Prof. Wang Jun, chair professor of computer science at University College London and director of AILab, The Yangtze River Delta; Cao Ying, assistant to the chairman of Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI); and Yu Tao, deputy director of Tsinghua University's Beijing National Research Center for Information Science and Technology.

Origin Space establishes itself as Changzhou's premier AI collaboration platform, designed to accelerate innovation through comprehensive resource integration, cross-disciplinary idea exchange, technical cooperation facilitation, practical application development, and ecosystem cultivation.

The hub operates through a tiered engagement model featuring daily programming, weekly salons, monthly demonstrations, and quarterly symposiums - creating a sustainable pipeline for AI advancement.

In his address, Mayor Zhou Wei emphasized that Origin Space represents a critical nexus in Changzhou's AI ecosystem development. He expressed hopes that it would evolve into three key pillars: a "research highland" empowering scientists to push boundaries, a "fertile ground for entrepreneurship" enabling business innovation, and a "smart engine" driving urban transformation. Zhou affirmed the municipal government's commitment to providing guidance, bridging connections, and offering support in technology, talent, and financing to facilitate AI-enabled enterprise growth. He also encouraged entrepreneurs to embrace innovation and lead in shaping the AI era.

The ceremony witnessed the formal onboarding of three anchor institutions as founding partners: AILab, CAAI's Yangtze River Delta Innovation Base, and Xitaihu (Changzhou) AI Industrial Technology Research Institute. Prof. Wang Jun delivered a keynote on AI's evolutionary trajectory and cutting-edge advancements. During the inaugural AI Salon, Deep Research's intelligent agent application was unveiled, followed by panel discussions featuring Changzhou Yuanxu Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Longcheng Precision Forging Co., Ltd., Kuangda Technology Group Co., Ltd., and Spinel Capital on industrial AI applications. Attendees including enterprise representatives and local academics engaged in face-to-face exchanges to spark ideas and explore collaborations.
