SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd. commenced construction of its fourth-step lithium-ion battery project in the Jintan district of Changzhou on December 8.

The new facility has an investment of 1.5 billion yuan with the goal of reaching 50GWh battery manufacturing capacity annually. 

The project covers an area of about 73 hectares, including three workshops for assembly, charge/discharge cycle testing, and module, and the company’s headquarters office, said Yang Hongxin, president of SVOLT.

With its global expansion plan of R&D and production centers, SVOLT expects to reach 600GWh of annual battery manufacturing capacity. 

SVOLT’s facility in Jintan is a smart, environment-friendly plant with a 95 percent automated production line.
