On October 24, a nine-member delegation led by Chuncheon Mayor Yuk Dong-han visited Changzhou to further enhance the longstanding sister-city relationship between the two cities.
At noon on the 24th, Jiang Pengju, vice mayor of Changzhou, warmly welcomed the delegation at the Municipal Administration Center. He briefed the visitors on Changzhou’s recent socioeconomic development and highlighted the strong foundation for cooperation between the two cities. Jiang expressed hopes for deeper collaboration in industry, education, technology, culture, and sports in the coming years.
Yuk Dong-han thanked Changzhou for its hospitality and noted the many similarities between Chuncheon and Changzhou. He proposed expanding cooperation in animation, football, and library services. Also present at the meeting were Zhao Liang, deputy secretary-general of the Changzhou Municipal Government; Shen Lian, deputy director of the Foreign Affairs Office; and Du Wenbo, deputy director of the Sports Bureau.
During their stay, the delegation visited the Changzhou Library and Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, where a book donation ceremony was held. They also toured Laoxizhuang Village and Changzhou Sifary Medical Technology Co., Ltd.
Furthering exchanges, Changzhou’s Lihe Experimental Primary School football team will travel to Chuncheon, South Korea in November to participate in the 2025 Chuncheon International Youth Friendly Football Tournament. That same month, a Chuncheon sports delegation will visit Changzhou for friendly matches in boxing, archery, and basketball.
This visit deepened mutual understanding and friendship between the two cities, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
