Recently, Xu Huaqin, mayor of Liyang People's Government, signed the Letter of Intent for Establishing Friendship Cities with the president of the City Council of Achiaman, Ghana. The two cities will carry out cooperation in various fields of science and technology, commerce, culture and so on.

Achiaman in Greater Accra Region with it's 202,932 residents is a town located in Ghana about 14 30 km north-west of Accra, the country's capital place. The main industries in Asham are wholesale and retail, with auto and motorcycle repairs, manufacturing, transportation, tourism, service, education and medicare accounting for 34.9%,  27.1%, 13.9%, 13.2%, 3.7%, 3.5% and 2.8% respectively.
