On October 27, the 14-day Training Program for Health and Quarantine Officials from Developing Countries concluded successfully in Changzhou. Twenty-four officials from seven countries, including Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa, took part in the program to discuss global health security and cooperation on connectivity. During the training, Changzhou and Nigeria reached two economic and trade cooperation agreements.
On October 17, during a seminar held as part of the program, the Deputy Director of the Federal Capital Development Authority of Nigeria expressed hopes to seek Chinese partners in the fields of electric motorcycles and photovoltaic products. In response, the Jiangsu Inspection, Quarantine and Quality Research Center acted swiftly and accurately matched relevant resources, facilitating the cooperation within just ten days.
In the e-motorcycle sector, the Jiangsu Inspection, Quarantine and Quality Research Center assisted Nigerian participants in visiting Changzhou Horwin New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. This led to both parties officially signing a memorandum of cooperation on October 22. Nigeria plans to purchase 10,000 two- and three-wheeled e-motorcycles from Horwin and will establish a display and after-sales service center in the country.
In the photovoltaic sector, after several rounds of negotiations, delegates from Nigeria and Changzhou Eging Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. (EGING PV) signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement on October 27. The deal, valued at approximately USD 4.2 million, covers PV modules and supporting system equipment. This marks EGING PV’s first entry into the African market and adds a new foothold for China’s photovoltaic industry on the continent.
