On February 19, according to the information of Jiangsu Provincial Statistics Bureau, by the end of 2012, Changzhou’s resident population reached 4.687 million, 37,100 more than the previous year, an increase of 0.8%. The increase is 0.4 percentage points down over 2011.

    According to statistics, by the end of 2012, the registered population made 3.6477 million, 19,100 more than the previous year, of which the urban population was 2.3067 million. In the city's registered population, the ratio of male to female is 99.1:100.
