Statistics from the Municipal Bureau of Commerce show that paid-in foreign investment reached $2.611 billion in 2018, ranking first for the increase rate in southern Jiangsu.

In 2018, the city added 356 foreign investment projects, with newly registered foreign investment of $5.124 billion, up 11.2% year-on-year. The newly added foreign investment and paid-in foreign investment in the manufacturing industry both achieved significant growth, accounting for 8.4% and 11.1% respectively. The paid-in foreign investment in the manufacturing sector accounted for 48.1%, which was 4.4 percentage points higher than the provincial average. The manufacturing projects of Arlanxeo Holding, AGCO Corporation, LITE-ON Technology Corporation and other 8 companies accumulated over $30 million investment throughout the year.

According to the calculation of the Provincial Department of Commerce, the proportion of foreign direct investment in strategic emerging industries in Changzhou is 8.5 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
