Changzhou has recently inaugurated its first Party-masses Service Center for “Small, Micro, and Specialized” (SMS) market entities, located in the Changjiang Free Trade Center.
The term “Small, Micro, and Specialized” (小个专) refers to small and micro enterprises, individual businesses, and specialized markets. These entities are a vital driving force of the economy, playing an important role in stimulating market activity, boosting employment, driving innovation, and improving everyday life for the public.
In recent years, the number of SMS market entities in Changzhou has continued to grow, demonstrating increasing vitality. However, these businesses also face challenges such as limited awareness of government policies, intense market competition, financing difficulties, and a rising number of disputes. The establishment of the Party-masses Service Center represents a key initiative to strengthen Party development among small businesses and enhance the quality and capacity of services for these market players.
The center features four dedicated service zones, forming a comprehensive platform that integrates policy consultation, skills training, entrepreneurship support, and rights protection. It is designed to serve nearly 600 SMS businesses operating in sectors such as automotive sales, decoration and building materials, agricultural and electromechanical products, hardware tools, and machinery equipment.
In addition, the center includes a 24-hour service station, providing a sheltered space with charging and rest facilities for truck drivers, delivery workers, and others. It is also equipped with a self-service "Changtongban" government service kiosk, enabling both local residents and businesses to access public services nearby and handle matters instantly.
