With railway transportation as one of its pillar industries, Changzhou Economic Development Zone is planning to build a demo streetcar line for public transportation.

It is learned that with a total length of 7.3 km and a planned investment of around 1 billion RMB, the demo line will be equipped with class-C streetcars and powered by electricity. The project is now in research and design, and is expected to start in 2016 and complete in 2018.

The demo line will have dual functions. It will complement the existing public transportation network and provide more transportation convenience to the public. And equipped by made-in-Changzhou streetcars, the demo line will also serve as an important platform to showcase made-in-Changzhou high quality transportation products.
