This year's edition added four new disciplines: Soil and Water Conservation and Desertification Control, Forensic Science, Intelligent Science and Technology, and Regional and Country Studies. Additionally, rankings were introduced for five arts-related professional degrees, covering Music, Dance, Drama and Film, Traditional Opera and Folk Art, and Fine Arts and Calligraphy.
A total of 5,344 subject areas from 517 universities were ranked nationally, with Peking University and Tsinghua University securing the top two positions.
Among Changzhou University's ranked disciplines, Computer Science and Technology, Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Materials Science and Engineering stood out. Notably, Chemical Engineering and Technology rose by 19 places, while Business Administration climbed by 20 places compared to last year's rankings.
The rankings rely entirely on third-party data, drawing from sources including China's Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, and National Natural Science Foundation, as well as international academic databases. The rankings feature only the top 50 percent of universities with graduate programs.
