Recently, Trina Solar Limited and Madrid-based platform Matrix Renewables have finalized the project to build the 20-MW Bosques de los Llanos II solar farm in Colombia. Colombian President Ivan Duque attended the plant's inauguration ceremony.

The plant is the second of the three identical Bosques de los Llanos solar farm projects to come to life in the municipality of Puerto Gaitan following the commercial operation of the first one last September. Construction of the Bosques de los Llanos III is in progress, according to a press release issued by the president’s office.

President Duque said in his speech that the combined capacity of the two Bosques de los Llanos plants amounts to what Colombia practically had in non-traditional renewables in August 2018.
