Segway-Ninebot has signed an agreement to launch its Intelligent Mobility Ecosystem Project in the Changzhou National Hi-Tech District (CND). Wang Jianfeng, secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee, and Zhou Wei, deputy secretary of the CPC Changzhou Municipal Committee and mayor of Changzhou, met with Gao Lufeng, chairman of Segway-Ninebot, and attended the signing ceremony.

Wang Jianfeng and Zhou Wei thanked Segway-Ninebot for its continued confidence in Changzhou and recognized the company’s long-term contribution to the city’s economic growth.

Wang noted that Changzhou has a strong manufacturing base and holds a leading position in the new-energy sector, covering power generation, storage, distribution, utilization, and connectivity. The city is also fostering its “6+X” system of future industries to promote coordinated technological and industrial innovation.

He said Segway-Ninebot, which has operated in Changzhou for more than a decade, has thrived by leveraging the city’s industrial strengths and has established its production headquarters here. Going forward, Changzhou will continue to strengthen the real economy, further improve its business environment, and cultivate new-quality productive forces to support enterprises like Segway-Ninebot in achieving new breakthroughs.

Gao Lufeng expressed appreciation for the city’s long-standing support and said Segway-Ninebot has grown alongside Changzhou’s development. With its smart manufacturing base in Changzhou as the core, the company has built an integrated system encompassing R&D, production, testing, and delivery. Looking ahead, Segway-Ninebot will continue to draw on Changzhou’s industrial advantages and strategic location to expand its R&D and manufacturing capabilities and explore new opportunities in global smart mobility.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Beijing, Segway-Ninebot focuses on smart mobility and robotics. Its Changzhou base—the world’s largest production site for intelligent short-distance mobility devices—produces millions of units each year.

The new Intelligent Mobility Ecosystem Project will advance next-generation mobility solutions that integrate human and machine intelligence. It will add production capacity for 3 million high-end scooters and 5 million components, offering smarter and more convenient mobility options worldwide.
